Can you please explain to me step-buy-step, how I download the newest version of the Electrum Wallet and how to use my wallet file and password, to get access to my little bit of Bitcoin.

How about the 12 word seed phrase of your old wallet, it will be easy to have access to your old wallet with your seed phrase.

After that go to create new wallet and click on standard wallet. Next click on I already have a wallet and import your 12 seed phrase from your old wallet to this new one.

Install and launch the application
Select on restore existing wallet something of that nature
You will be asked to provide your wallet file
Which you already have
After that enter your password and wait for wallet synchronization
If it's successful you would see your balance.

If you created that wallet with Electrum, older version, and now you want to upgrade it to a newest version, you can do the same on your current device if it is usable (in fact it's dead), or on a new device that is your case now.

Download, and if possible, verify your Electrum wallet before using.

Next step is finding your wallet directory

• Where is the Electrum datadir located?

And you can copy and paste your backup wallet file to that directory.

Last step is open that wallet, and type your wallet password.

Make sure you have different backups (a wallet file is one backup method) like your Wallet Mnemonic Seed Phrase.

First of all, you need to install the Electrum Wallet, i suggest you to see the tutorial on youtube, because it's easy to see and following the instructions while watching a tutorial ^[1].

Your post is about coin recovery using the seed phrase and not the wallet file. Or maybe he does not know the difference between recovery using the wallet file and seed phrase. But if it is wallet file that the OP has, he can not use this process to recover the wallet, unless he has the seed phrase.

Advice:
It will be good to always backup the seed phrase also.

You may not only have to make use of the wallet password or the wallet file, we make use of the secret phase or seed phrase as some may call it to import our wallet back, the password used is only encrypted to the old device you're using in other to gain access to the device and not the wallet, meanwhile, you may also have to understand that the bitcoin is not stored on your wallet, but instead on the blockchain, you need the seed phrase therefore to achieve this, another thing you may have to learn about is the use of electrum, here is a little guide on that.

I'm not sure I fully understand what you are trying to say but the last senrence is definitely not correct.
Your wallet app (elecrum in this case) encrypts the wallet file with the password you provide. It doesn’t use it to encrypt the whole device as you alleged.
Therefore, even if you import the encrypted wallet file into another device, you will not be able to open it and access the data it contains without decrypting it first.

You already know how to install Electrum, considering that you have previously used it on your old computer.

Or, when you have installed Electrum and created a new Wallet, you can also open your old wallet file by clicking the File menu -> Open and looking for the wallet file.

You can still recover the Electrum Wallet on any PC using the wallet file generated by Electrum (desktop version) on the previous PC.

The password encrypts the wallet key, so you need to decrypt it first with that password when opening it in Electrum on any PC device.

Or, when you have installed Electrum and created a new Wallet, you can also open your old wallet file by clicking the File menu -> Open and looking for the wallet file.

It's possible to click on Browse, choose the new wallet file just created on a new computer, and find its directory, then copy and paste the old wallet file to that directory, and open it. This can help to store all wallet files in a same directory, new and old wallet.

I think it is a must for everyone to back up the phrase of their wallet as your advice, especially for op, i think he should have his own phrase, because at the beginning of the wallet creation, he should be able to see the available phrase and back it up immediately. Even so, i have been lookingg for a way to recover it ^[1].

How about the 12 word seed phrase of your old wallet, it will be easy to have access to your old wallet with your seed phrase.

It's definitely easier to recover the old wallet from seed than having to copy/paste the wallet file in the correct destination and decrypt it with the password used in the past. Remember @Jacques13, the wallet file and password aren't essential to the recovery of your bitcoin. The password only protects the file from unauthorized access. For instance, if your Electrum wallet file wasn't password-protected, anyone who has a copy of it can view your private keys and steal your bitcoin.
