Electrum app lockout

Hello,
I lost the seed and forgot the password to my electrum wallet app. I do have the phone that has the wallet on it and it lets me try unlimited times to log in but I can't remember and been trying for months now.
Since the password is stored somewhere in the app, is it possible do dig into the app and find it somewhere (dat file)? If any other ideas, please let me know.

If you don't have a rooted device, you're not going to be able to access the file.

Even though he had access to the electrum wallet file, it will be encrypted so without password it is impossible to open that file.

I guess BTCRecover can also be used to recover lost passwords, which is basically brutefocring the password and if you have any idea how many characters and combination of it then it would be much faster.

Electrum does not have any headquarters. It's not a centralized service so not even them can recover the funds for you.

I was under the impression that you wanted the file to try and brute force it. If not, then as mentioned above, without the password there is really nothing much you can do.

You can try the above (to brute force the password) or get someone more experienced to do it (WalletRecoveryServices is a good service, but make sure to do your own research first and beware of phishing sites). But you should have a good idea about the complexity of the password otherwise it's pointless.

One more thing that the OP didn't mention - but is this about saving a significant amount or something that might not be worth spending time and resources on? Of course, I'm not saying that it should be written publicly, but considering that it's a mobile wallet, maybe the amount doesn't justify trying to recover - or maybe I'm wrong?

If you do not have the seed phrase, probably your coins are lost already.

If your device is rooted, you can follow the link that OmegaStarScream and Findingnemo posted above. But likely you do not have a rooted device. Do not make a mistake to want to root your device for you to have access to your wallet file. There is no way you can have access to your wallet file if the device is not rooted before this issue. If you root your device, your files on the device ROM will be deleted.

Do not joke with your seed phrase. Back it up in two or three locations. If you are afraid of anyone not to see it, you can add passphrase to extend the seed phrase with extra characters.

There's an alternative to do that extracting any data isn't easy but there are some tools can able to extract them without rooting the phone. Because all data is saved on eMMC, you will need a special tool called JTAG to directly connect (resolder) to the eMMC and copy all data from it.
However, the majority of people who own this tool are phone technicians, so he may need to hire someone trustworthy just to copy all data via JTAG.

This is a very solid example of why it is very important to keep your keys safe assuming the OP had a paper wallet backup or in simpler terms he had his keys stored somewhere offline he would have just easily deleted the wallet and re install the ELECTRUM software then input the seed phrase and get everything back. Personally when I saw this post all that came to my mind is that if the wallet didn't contain much coins he could just try a recovery tool.

However I very skeptical if a brute forcing tool would work out. If I remember correctly op is talking about a password here which has X number of maximum input and the whole thing even gets worse if the OP has zero clue to what the password is. The numbers of permutations of a password is just way too much unlike the regular 4 or 6 digit pin.

It's not login, but rather entering password to decrypt the wallet file. And i don't think Electrum store password meant to encrypt the wallet file either.

Not fully true. On few devices and it's OS version, it's possible to root without losing data.
