Edit: Fixed. Not sure what happened I changed networks and now it seems to work.

click on the red circle at the bottom right corner of the window to open the Network window (also accessible from menu Tools > Network) uncheck the box saying "Select server automatically" and then choose other servers. try "ecdsa.net" for instance.

also make sure you have not set any "Proxy" at the bottom of the window in the respective field.
also try restarting Electrum if you still couldn't connect to any servers. it may also help if you have a way of monitoring your traffic and see if Electrum is even trying to connect or not. you may be blocking it unknowingly.
