1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Auto completion vs electrum on: November 15, 2024, 08:11:27 PM
It just makes me think it has a dictionary or database from where it generates the seed
It's not that your seed phrase is stored on a database.
By default, electrum uses BIP39 wordlist when generating a seed phrase. The wordlist includes 2048 words and once you enter a word that is not listed there, electrum can know that the seed phrase is not valid.

Ok got it
2048 words from where it generates the seed
No security issue here I think so

I see
Electrum generated the seed but it doesn’t need to know it when you are typing it
It just makes me think it has a dictionary or database from where it generates the seed

Hello everyone here
I’m just testing electrum wallet and see that after creating the seed it asks for confirmation about it
When you try to confirm the seed there’s an auto completion for words you are trying to type
If you write a word wrong it will disappear (the auto completion )
Is that normal

Thanks everyone here
I said 50 usdt because I don’t remember the exact number on btc
It is equivalent to 50usdt when I sent it
blockchain.com is really bad right now very heavy and risky
I was just storing these from late 2017 there
Gonna look for a good cold wallet
Any recommendations is welcome
Regards
Just a thought: when I posted the issue on Reddit I got a lot of private messages asking to help
But they are just looking for my seed
Also an account on Twitter personalized blockchain support tried the same thing
Be careful everyone one

From what I understand, the remaining balance was sent to a p2wpkh (bech32 bc1q) change address, but blockchain.info wallet can't read it, right?

So, download bluewallet, restore using your recovery seed, if the change address is set to the BIP84 path (M/84H/0H/0H), you will probably see your balance there.

Remember to select segwit or p2wpkh during the restore.

After that, create a new wallet (backup it with the recovery words written down) and don't use blockchain.info anymore, these guys really try hard to destroy their own reputation.

Reddit thread got this response
0.00057762 BTC were sent to 1FLm7zXTqzAU9xNEe7pNY8P289WUvPwq6g.

4.00110683 BTC were sent to a change address, bc1qzfhvk5d3rnsnesy8l7c38plc4kcwz3ytuqvfge.

The sending address and receiving address are legacy P2PKH addresses. The change address is a Bech32 address.

I don't know why your wallet would create a transaction that puts the change in a Bech32 address if it can't show you coins in Bech32 addresses, but don't panic. If you can't find a setting in your wallet software to show Bech32 addresses, you should be able to recover that wallet to one that does.

What type of wallet is this? You said "blockchain", but blockchain (lowercase) isn't a wallet.

What type of recovery information--for example, a mnemonic sentence ("seed words") and possibly an additional seed phrase--do you have for this wallet?
