To be fair to south Africa bowlers effort this morning, batting did look easy, it's a 3rd day so possibility of pitch easing out to bat on.

New ball would be challange for Proteas', if their opener can see off first spell of Aussies trio without any losing their wicket ( or 1 down) then there is a chance of good partnership and some spice in the match.

Aussies tail has done the job for the team. In second innigs, Australia were 7/73 but due to its tail resistance Australia net score was 207. Pitch might be good for batting on 3rd day but still 282 won't be an easy thing to chase against mighty Aussies.

SA have started their run chase and they have lost the wicket of Ryan Rickelton. Two sessions still left in today's play and we might see the winner or can have idea of who is heading to victory at the end of today's play.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2025: We Won the Price War. Did We Lose Its Soul? on: June 13, 2025, 11:39:50 AM
That's why where Bitcoin is now is a bit bittersweet. It's gotten its 6-digit figure, yeah. It's even earned the nod of the most powerful country of the world. But has it become the money that it's designed to be? Probably not.

I've paid bills in Bitcoin, but through a centralized app. Many are proud to have used Bitcoin as money but via a Bitcoin payment processing provider. Some are saying they've used Bitcoin as payment but from a custodial wallet. Satoshi would have a facepalm listening to these stories.

However, to treat Bitcoin as an asset isn't that bad really. If the asset is kept in such a way that no third party can have control over it, that somehow serves Bitcoin's purpose. That's still freedom from the abuses of the powers that be.

The beauty of bitcoin is that it's open for everyone, bitcoin has a huge community that is built over a period of time and likewise the institutes can't be stopped from entering into Bitcoin. The one positive aspect of entry of institutes into bitcoin is enormous increase in price of Bitcoin and is expected to grow further with time. As far as Bitcoin network is concerned, it's still very much run independent nodes which are difficult to control or manipulate. If these institutes quit Bitcoin in future theyit might have effect on Bitcoin price not on its decentralization nor on security.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to keep crypto safe? on: June 13, 2025, 03:52:07 AM
You always have to maintain confidentiality in crypto investments otherwise you can be in danger, because you are the only one who can tell people about your investments and create your own danger,

Security must not be an after thought in crypto but should be first and foremost preference. There are many technical measures which are already discussed here but one thing which most of us ignore is the point highlighted by you which is never disclose you real wealth to public. Hackers technical attack is secondary thing, first they have to find out the real target and if you are disclosing your real worth then you have done half of the work for the hacker.

We can't even dream of such vibe in India due to AQI and shitty condition of stadiums in international matches ( for IPL matches, franchises do their best for the fans).

2 days and 28 wickets, it should be finish by tomorrow. Usually 3rd day is considered good for batting so south africa might fancy their chances but again it's Australia so you never know.

Aussies got lead of 218 runs with two wickets still in hand and that will be good enough to win the match. In second innings Alex Carey 43 runs helped Aussies in making 144 at the end of second days play. Rabada and Lungi Ngidi both got 3 wickets each in second innings. The way batsmen are getting out on Lords pitch it will be difficult for SA to win the match unless someone played a match winning innings. SA first inning batting was a total disappointment and Aussies bowlers now have a good total to defend.

Just as Australia lost the wicket of Usman Khawaja early, South Africa lost the wicket of Aiden Markram early. The start was even, meaning South Africa started in the same way as Australia did. However, the team that takes the lead in the first innings will have a higher chance of winning. Australia was all out for 212 runs in their first innings, meaning that it can be said that Australia's first innings total is not very good. In that case, if South Africa can perform well and take a lead in runs, then South Africa will have a chance of winning.

SA bowlers have done their job in first innings and now it's up to their batsmen to take advantage of Australia low score in first innings. But SA in reply are also not in good position, both openers are back to pavilion and score is just 19. 12 wickets have gone down so far and still 20 overs play left in first days play, this tells how scary pitch is for the batsmen. Australia lost 4 quick wickets this morning but then Smith and Beau Webster partnership rescued Australia. SA also need such partnership at the moment to stay in the game.

At the moment, it is a bit unpredictable. Netherlands needs another 80 runs to win, at 6.3 runs per over. But they have only 4 wickets to spare, and at the crease they have Kyle Klein and Noah Croes. Despite the small target, Nepal bowlers gave a tough time to the Dutch batsmen so far. And for Nepal the most encouraging sign has been the return to form from Sandeep Lamichhane. He has figures of 8-0-34-3 right now and has two more overs left in his quota. Lalit Rajbanshi also did well, but he has bowled out.

Credit goes to Nepal bowlers for this victory against Netherlands. If Nepal has shown such performance since start of this league then they will be among top teams of this league. Nepal recent victories proves that the team has the potential. Despite small target in today's game Nepal bowlers keep picking wickets that helped in restricting Netherlands to 220. Nepal set a target of 236 just because of Aarif Sheikh brilliant knock of 84 runs on just 85 balls otherwise Nepal would have given target of less then 200 runs.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yes I Memorized My Seeds on: June 10, 2025, 05:37:28 PM
That is great! I recommend exactly this method! You have secured yourself against any and all thieves.

But, you should still make sure you have a backup, should you forget it. I mean, I also memorized my old phone number 20 years ago, but I do not remember it anymore. We all forget eventually, that's just natural.

What happens if you hit your head or get alzheimers or something? Nobody's "wetware" (aka brain) is safe. Having a backup is always a good option. You don't necessarily have to write it down or save it digitally. There are many ways of saving the seed so that only you would know where and how to retrieve it.

It's a unique way to secure your seed and very useful technique as long as you remember it correctly. One drawback which I see with this technique is in case someone loses his life then how his next of kin will access the Bitcoins? Memorising seed is good way to keep your seed safe from all sort of online hacking's but there are some limitations also associated with this strategy which we have to keep in mind if we are adopting this technique.

What I think is best way to secure your seed is to write it down on piece of paper and put it in safe custody with info to your next of kin.

In the end, Nepal made 236/9. Decent comeback by them, but I would say that it is far from a winning total. Aarif Sheikh was the backbone of Nepali batting, as he made 84. There were decent knocks from Bhim Sharki and Rohit Paudel, but no one in the lower order contributed. Heroes of the last match (Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami) didn't contributed much, and also Sompal was dropped for this match. Nandan Yadav is making his ODI and List A debut today, and let's see what he can do with the ball.

Nepal target is low but their bowlers still fighting hard to win the match. Netherlands at the moment need 126 runs from 26 overs and four of their top order batsmen are back to pavilion. If Nepal can get one or two wickets in next 5 overs then it will be difficult for Netherlands to win this game. We have seen some good cricket from Nepal in their last few games and I am sure Nepal will give a good fight in this game too just like they gave a good fight in their last game against Scotland.

13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: June 09, 2025, 10:51:11 AM
Almost everything in life is about risk taking but sometimes I neglect the fact that Bitcoin has a little risk because of it potential but yet I still invest with what is convenient for me, it is good to know Bitcoin is not risk free but I think it will be more good if you keep aside the " not risk free" and focus on your investment and do what is really required because sometimes when an investor put this not risk free mentality in their head, it might likely discourage an investor to some point. If one can be able to keep aside the following; discretionary, emergency and back up funds then that particular investor should be not thinking about risk but rather focus on how to use those funds judiciously.

There is minimum or we can say zero risk involved if we talk about investing in Bitcoin. It's just an inner fear or trust issue which one has to overcome and start investing in Bitcoin, rest is a smooth journey. We have discussed and seen many cases of investing in Bitcoin for longer duration, as long as someone intent is to HODL Bitcoin for 5 or more years he is bound to get good return.

It's important to keep investing in Bitcoin the discretionary income we have in our hand. If someone don't have any discretionary income for Bitcoin then he must think of how to generate that discretionary income.

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: June 09, 2025, 10:28:17 AM
This is not an issue that is specific to West Indies, although we can say that as a team perhaps they are the most affected. Several of the South African, New Zealander and English players have retired from international cricket, to focus on playing in franchise T20 leagues. Trent Boult of New Zealand is a perfect example. The boards also sometimes make it extremely difficult to the player, to find an optimal balance between national duty and T20 leagues. BCB and PCB have refused to issue NOC to several players in the past. Now the only option left is to retire from national duty.

There are T20 Leagues going on all over the year and it's difficult for players to remain available for national duties throughout the year. Players have to choose between T20 leagues and national duty. Those players who are not getting good money from their boards have no option but to choose the T20 leagues, we have seen this in WI and SA cricket.

The case of PCB is different since players don't have the option to play IPL but they have there own league which gives a decent money to it's  players. Moreover PCB also pay a decent money to it's full time players and that's why Pakistani players are mostly available for national cricket throughout the year.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Season on: June 09, 2025, 07:14:39 AM
The flow of money in the previous cycle was from bitcoin then to Ethereum and to other altcoins but now it will not flow as much as that, because the money that goes into bitcoin is not only from the crypto market but also the ETF path, where it will be very difficult for people who take advantage of their ETFs to switch to investing in other altcoins like the previous cycle.

For this cycle, investors are more observant in assessing an asset, there will be less fomo and now we are starting to enter an era where an investor sees a project with fundamentals, although it seems like there are still many gamblers who do that in the crypto market like investing in shitcoin and hoping to get 1000x.

The investors these days are very careful while investing in Alts because of bad experiences of the past. The launch of Bitcoin ETF has also played an important role in increasing Bitcoin dominance. Don't forget that it's Bitcoin ETF that has increased Bitcoin price to over 100k. The current speculations about Bitcoin price is that it's heading towards 150k and in such circumstances it looks difficult that investors will pull out money from Bitcoin for investment in Alts. Can't say about next 2 to 3 years but for now Bitcoin market cap along with price will continue to grow and alts may also join the party but might not go 10x up.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea elected new Bitcoin-friendly President on: June 09, 2025, 06:50:55 AM
So at the end of the day it is not all about Bitcoin but rather about releasing their own controlled stablecoin.  So what is there for the Bitcoinist to celebrate?  First, all I see is a plan that is only beneficial to the government.  Creating regulation on cryptocurrency might go southward if they implement tight regulations that include KYC and many privacy-invading demands due to the established new set of law about cryptocurrency.

Actually, I believe this is the cost for the government adopting Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.  All engagement in cryptocurrency should pass through a centralized system where every transaction can be monitored by the government.

No matter how much Bitcoin friendly a politician is, as soon as he hold elected office of a government he has to follow the government policies. What we have seen so far regarding government accepting Bitcoin is government allowing Bitcoin transactions that they can monitor, government never allow the p2p bitcoin transactions which they can't monitor. We saw Mr. Trump very friendly towards crypto before he was elected as US president but as soon as he was elected he is following the stance of US government on crypto.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 09, 2025, 05:29:54 AM
What an exciting match. Scotland had terrible start losing two players almost immediately which surely worried their fans. But then two of their batsmen amazingly scored over 100 runs each under huge pressure completely changing game and setting big target of 324 runs. Nepal also struggled early on and even though Bhim Sharki played well they could not get enough strong partnerships losing by only two runs. These kinds of close dramatic games are what make cricket so thrilling. I was thinking that Scotland would win with a big margin but Nepal really gave them a tough time.

I really feel for Nepal, they deserve to win after all the hard work they have done in the match. Nepal is not having a good time in this World Cup League but we have seen some good cricket from Nepal in their last 3 games. When Scotland set a target of 323 runs, nobody expected that Nepal will finish so close to the target. It's a good sign for Nepal cricket that the team is performing well against team like Netherlands and Scotland who are among strong teams of this league. The next target for Nepal will be to get victory against top team of this tournament i.e. USA.

19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t treat gambling like a job or you might end up losing your real one.. on: June 08, 2025, 06:13:20 PM
Some probably have made it work. But I don't think I will be like them. Even if I do certain analysis when I bet on sports matches, I still find it hard to really make money from gambling.

The truth is that it is really hard, almost impossible even, to earn consistently from gambling. So before you consider having sports betting as your main source of income you should be aware how it is not that easy.

And whether we like it or not, there is still a lot of luck needed in sports betting. The Pacers' win yesterday against the Thunders has luck involved.

Those who figure out very early that it's really hard to make money from gambling are the one who avoid heavy loses in gambling. The whole gambling industry is designed in a way that it's the house who is the ultimate winner while gamblers keep losing money to the house. My opinion is that go for sports betting or any other betting only if you have some spare cash in your pocked and only put that spare cash for betting. In the end majority of gamblers lose their money, make sure you lose what you can afford to lose.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin family shares their secret on: June 08, 2025, 06:02:32 PM
Right now, he said that the family stopped posting travel updates as well as vlogging due to people identifying his family's location. It really is better to keep a low profile especially if you know you are wealthy. Do you think his system is a smart one?

If you are disclosing your financial assets then get ready for consequences like kidnapping for ransom. The bad guys are always looking for such people who have good amount of money that can be demanded as a ransom. The family would have been in better situation if they haven't disclosed there live locations along with posting details in daily or weekly vlogs. If you are public figure then it's very important to figure out what to post online and what not. I am of the view that those who have good amount of money should stay away from online platforms to hide there personal identities.
